Hi, I’m Lori Abney, and I’m a teacher based in Seabrook, Texas, just a short drive from the coast of Galveston. For the past 14 years, I’ve dedicated my life to education. While I don’t have children of my own, I’ve had the honor and joy of teaching many students over the years — each one leaving a lasting impression on my heart. Teaching has been more than a career for me; it’s a calling, and I cherish the relationships I’ve built in the classroom.

Three years ago, I became a widow, a loss that changed my life profoundly. While that chapter brought heartache, it also gave me a deeper appreciation for living fully and finding joy in new experiences. Travel has been a powerful part of my healing journey, and it continues to inspire and energize me.

I’ve traveled cross-country and internationally to places like Istanbul, Turkey; Monterrey, Oaxaca, and Cozumel, Mexico; Taiwan; Guatemala; Belize; and Costa Maya. Each destination has enriched my life with new perspectives, cultures, and unforgettable memories.

One of my greatest passions is cruising. I’ve taken four cruises so far and plan to take many more. There’s something magical about being at sea, discovering new ports, and enjoying the world-class amenities onboard. Over time, I’ve gained extensive knowledge about cruising — from selecting the best itineraries and excursions to navigating the ship’s amenities and activities. I consider myself an expert in cruise travel and love sharing that knowledge with others.

I’m especially passionate about helping fellow teachers plan their vacations. We work hard all year long, and I truly believe we deserve the chance to relax, explore, and recharge.
